Projects and Assignments is a feature to allow the capturing of where skills being utilised. This then allows reporting for users to report on the availability of talent.
An individual team member can be associated with an Assignment. The assignment captures the start and end date and so drives the availability for that particular team member.
A Project records a set of work for which team members can be assigned. The project describes a start and end date and also information about the project name and objectives. A project contains a collection of Assignments.
Creating a Project
When enabled, the Projects page can be accessed from the left menu bar.
A new project can be added by clicking “Add Project” which is the first tile in the data grid.
Fill in the form to create a project and his save.
Adding an Assignment
Team members can be added to a project with an assignment record. From the projects page, click on a project to view the details. Click “Add Assignment” to open a form to create a new assignment.
Fill in the form, including specifying the team member and click save.
The assignment record will now be used to determine a staff members availability based on their skills. More information on availability can be seen here.
